Job summary

Yuba College seeks a Part-time, non-tenured track, Intercollegiate Athletics Instructor to teach intercollegiate athletic classes. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Kinesiology & Athletics and handle all aspects of the class, within a district that participates in the Bay Valley Conference and CCCAA.

Temporary, part-time faculty positions offer opportunities to assist a diverse group of students in achieving educational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in any discipline AND two years of professional coaching experience, OR Associate’s degree in any discipline AND six years of professional coaching experience.
• The professional experience must be directly related to the sport of the faculty member’s teaching assignment.
• Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students.
• Successful coaching experience at the collegiate level, preferably in the designated sport.
• Successful recruiting experience at the collegiate level.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines; prepare course outlines, materials, and lectures.
• Help develop and measure learning outcomes identified by the department.
• Assess student performance and maintain grade records.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics; stay current in subject matter areas.
• Complete program/college/district reporting deadlines on time.
• Use current technology and learning materials to support lessons.
