The candidate will lead curriculum development, collaborate across campus locations, and engage with high schools and four-year colleges to strengthen transfer opportunities and keep courses up to date.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in economics.
• Bachelor’s in economics AND Master’s in business, business administration, business management, business education, finance, or political science OR the equivalent.
• Possess a California Community College life credential in the subject matter area of economics.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective classroom instruction using methods and materials that promote student learning and that are appropriate to the subject matter.
• Develop and maintain relevant community college economics curricula, including transfer/articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities.
• Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments at different campus locations, including online or non-traditionally-paced courses.
• Participate in program activities including curriculum and program planning, development, evaluation, and decision making; participate in governance processes.
• Interact with area high schools and maintain currency and depth of knowledge in economics education.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of students.

Education

Master’s Degree in economics

Bachelor’s in economics AND Master’s in business, business administration, business management, business education, finance, or political science
