Job summary

CSN is seeking a Part Time Digital Electronics Instructor to teach Digital Electronics and related Engineering Technology courses at North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Western Campuses. In-person/online instruction is possible, with classes scheduled day, evening, and weekend slots.

The role involves developing syllabi, lab activities, and course materials while guiding students toward course outcomes and safety best practices.

Qualifications

• 5 years of work-related experience in electronics or a related field or an equivalent degree.
• Ability to teach electronics and related courses in a college setting.
• Familiarity with lab safety and instructional procedures.

Responsibilities of a Part Time Digital Electronics Instructor include but are not limited to:

Lecture and or Lab instruction for Digital Electronics and related Engineering Technology courses.

Demonstrate and assist students with digital electronics lab procedures, test equipment, circuit construction, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety precautions.

Develop syllabi, laboratory activities, and course materials.

Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives.

Independently evaluate student mastery of digital electronics skills and competencies required by course outcomes.

Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.

Provide advisement to students.

Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of work-related experience in electronics, electrical/electronic systems, engineering technology, or closely related field. OR Applied Science degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, or an equivalent degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited College/University
• Two years of professional experience as an Electronics Technician or in a closely related technical field.
• One year full-time teaching experience in electronics, digital electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related technical discipline
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce
• Knowledge of digital electronics laboratory equipment and computer classroom technologies, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, logic analyzers, and circuit simulation software
• Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems
• Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability

Schedule Information

Engineering Technology courses are taught at North Las Vegas, Henderson and Western Campuses, in-person/online and are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Salary Information

$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
