Job summary

College of Southern Nevada (CSN) seeks a Part Time Engineering Technology Instructor to deliver lectures and labs in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, and Technical Physics at North Las Vegas, Henderson and Western Campuses. Courses are offered in-person and online with day, evening, and weekend options.

The role involves developing syllabi, evaluating student mastery, advising students, and participating in staff activities. Knowledge of Canvas is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of work-related experience or an engineering technologies degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with teaching experience.
  • Comfort with multiple delivery modes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lecture and/or lab instruction for Engineering Technology courses.
  • Develop syllabi and course materials aligned with outcomes.
  • Provide advisement to students and participate in recruitment activities.

Job Description

Responsibilities of a Part Time Engineering Technology Instructor include but are not limited to: Lecture and or Lab instruction for Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, and or Technical Physics courses Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence to safety precautions Develop syllabi and course materials. Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes. Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs Provide advisement to students Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested

Required Qualifications

5 years of work-related experience OR Applied Science degree in Engineering Technologies or equivalent degree

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College/University 1 year full time teaching experience Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce Knowledge of computer classroom technologies Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.

Schedule

Engineering Technology courses are taught at North Las Vegas, Henderson and Western Campuses, in-person/ online and are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends

Salary Information

$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
