Job summary

Grand Canyon University seeks a motivated Instructional Assistant to support The College of Theology through tutoring, classroom facilitation, and academic assistance. This is a face-to-face, part-time role on GCU’s Main Campus in Phoenix, Arizona, up to 10 hours per week.

Minimum qualifications include a completed Bachelor's degree and Arizona residency with in-person availability. Coursework in Theology, Ministry, or Divinity with a B or higher, plus strong communication skills, are required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
• Must reside in Arizona and be available to work in person on GCU’s Main Campus.
• Successfully completed coursework in Theology, Ministry, or Divinity, with a grade of B or higher.
• Strong communication and classroom support skills.
• Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or instructional support experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with faculty to support classroom instruction and student engagement.
• Assist with lesson preparation, grading, and classroom facilitation.
• Hold weekly office hours to provide tutoring and academic support.
• Reinforce course concepts through one-on-one and group assistance.
• Observe and report student progress to faculty.
• Facilitate review sessions and supplemental instruction opportunities.
• Help create a collaborative and encouraging learning environment.
• Uphold and support the mission and values of Grand Canyon University.
