Job summary

Owen Health Care Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a Part-Time Individual Support Worker to assist children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You will conduct in-home support, collaborate with behavioral therapists, and implement individualized plans to promote safety and behavioral growth. Ideal candidates have a college degree or a HS diploma with substantial supervised experience and demonstrate strong communication, empathy, and patience.

Qualifications

• College degree with 1 year of experience or a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with both the children and their families.
• Ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines in implementing behavioral therapy programs.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized service plans and behavioral interventions in home and community settings.
• Monitor and document observations of youth behavior to adjust daily activities and goals.
• Develop and implement engaging recreational activities that support emotional and social growth of the youth.
• Ensure a clean and secure environment for youths in care.
