Job summary

Owen Health Care Inc in New Jersey is seeking a Part-Time Individual Support Worker to join a team that improves the lives of children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will travel to the homes of our clients and collaborate with families and professionals to deliver compassionate care.

The role involves implementing behavioral therapy support, creating safe home environments, and documenting observations to guide program goals.

Qualifications

College degree with one year of experience or a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with both the children and their families.
Ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines in a supportive manner.

Responsibilities

Implement individualized service plans and provide behavioral interventions in home and community settings.
Monitor and document observations of youth behavior to adjust daily activities toward therapeutic goals.
Develop and implement engaging recreational activities that support emotional and social growth while maintaining a clean, safe environment.
