Job summary

The Life Skills Coach (LSC) at The Bindu Institute, LLC is a community-based role working with individuals who have brain injuries or neurological conditions. The LSC provides functional supports to help clients live independently and access community resources.

Key duties include client advocacy, facilitating decision-making, assisting with daily routines, and promoting social integration through community activities, with an emphasis on safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must have a reliable computer or device for documentation responsibilities; Word/Excel/Acrobat required.
• BS/BA in related field or 1–2 years' experience with adults who are developmentally disabled preferred.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and pass background checks.
• Reside within a reasonable commute to the client; insurance requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive support and advocacy for clients.
• Assist with identifying choices and informed decisions for daily activities.
• Maintain household routines, cleanliness, and safety.
• Support participation in recreation and community activities to promote socialization.
• Assist with community integration, transportation, and accessing services.
• Educate clients on problem-solving and independence strategies.
• Document progress notes and required reports per policy.
