Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines in El Paso, TX is seeking a PT Inbound Freight Handler who loads and unloads freight and assists in recouping damaged goods.

You will prepare trailers, use proper lifting techniques, operate forklifts and other handling equipment, and verify shipment weights and paperwork.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and you must pass background and drug tests; forklift experience and certification are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check and alcohol/drug screening.
• Prior forklift experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers.
• Use proper lifting techniques and freight handling equipment.
• Weigh and dimension shipments for classification.
• Ensure hazardous material paperwork and placarding accuracy.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
• Review freight bills and manifests for instructions.
