Job summary

Meow Wolf in Las Vegas, NV seeks an Exhibition Art and Scenic Associate on a variable, part-time basis to maintain and redesign exhibition aesthetics. You will work with art and mechanical elements, fabrics, paints, and rigging within immersive installations.

You will design, fabricate, and install new exhibition elements, document repairs, and collaborate with the team to improve guest experiences while following safety protocols and SDS standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional experience in museum, public installations, immersive arts, scenic design production, or theme parks.
• Art restoration and art preservation including painting and murals.
• Digital fabrication: 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting, vinyl cutting; CAD and modeling.
• Metalworking: welding, grinding, cutting, assembly.
• Woodworking: finish carpentry and scenic design.
• Sculpture: casting, mold making, additive/subtractive sculpting.
• Experience in scenic art and mechanical design, with rigging capabilities.
• Proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhino, Fusion 360, Blender.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform routine maintenance of art throughout the exhibition, including graphics and installations.
• Track timely fixes and repairs; work with autonomy to solve art damage.
• Design, fabricate, theme and install new or revised exhibition elements.
• Document repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and new designs with up-to-date records.
• Communicate with team to propose improvements to extend lifespan of artwork.
• Maintain data accuracy in the maintenance and inspection database.
• Organize files and communications using Google Drive for planning and collaboration.
• Handle chemicals and tools with strict adherence to safety standards and PPE.
