Job summary

The Town of Mammoth Lakes is seeking a part-time Ice Skating Instructor for LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes in the new Community Recreation Center. Responsibilities include teaching private and group skating lessons for youth and adults, and working about 15 hours per week during the season.

Applicants should have strong skating skills, prior instruction experience, and possess or be able to obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates. Supervision from Recreation staff is provided.

Qualifications

• First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates required or ability to obtain before starting work.
• One year of experience as an Ice Skating or Ice Hockey Recreation Instructor is desirable.
• No minimum education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain close surveillance of persons on and around the ice for emergencies and safety hazards; enforce rules.
• Instruct a variety of ice skating classes, lessons, and programs.
• Maintain daily checklists and maintenance records.
• Register pupils for ice skating lessons and programs.
• Accept payment of fees; issue receipts; maintain records and files.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
