Job summary

Fortis College in Richmond, VA seeks an experienced HVAC/R Technician to join its faculty on a part-time basis. The position reports to the Dean of Education and involves teaching two courses per term with some preparation work, plus involvement in meetings and graduation processes.

Qualifications

• Completion of an HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or a Diploma; an associate degree is preferred but not required.
• EPA Universal certification is required.
• Virginia DPOR Journeyman or Master HVAC License is required.
• OSHA 10 required.
• HVAC Excellence certification is desirable but not required.
• NATE certification is desirable but not required.
• Minimum of three years of HVAC/R Technician experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven.
• Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC/R courses (typical load is two courses per term with two preparations).
• Provide academic advising to students.
• Participate in department trainings, meetings and graduation activities.
