Job summary

Wave Aquatics is seeking a part-time Human Resources Specialist to manage full employee lifecycle tasks, including recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and HRIS upkeep across multiple sites in Washington.

You will collaborate with hiring managers, conduct background checks, and help administer benefits while ensuring compliance and a welcoming staff experience. Remote work is allowed part-time, with scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR role, including recruitment and HRIS administration.
• Knowledge of employment law, background/reference checks, and HR compliance.
• Experience interviewing and coordinating hiring with multiple managers.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with discretion for sensitive information.
• Commitment to supporting a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Implement recruitment processes for all positions, from job posting through offer.
• Conduct interviews and support hiring managers and teams through the interview process.
• Perform background checks and reference checks for candidates and employees.
• Coordinate regularly with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and select qualified candidates.
• Support onboarding new staff, ensuring a smooth and welcoming start to employment with Wave.
• Maintain Wave’s HRIS, keeping employee profiles current and compliant paperwork.
• Support staff performance review processes.
• Monitor staff hours and tenure for pay raise eligibility and coordinate raises with supervisors.
• Support benefits administration for staff.
• Collaborate with Executive Director and HR consultant to create/enforce HR policies.
• Work to grow Wave’s support of staff through training, recognition and wellness initiatives.
