Job summary

NexGen Research, a growing multisite clinical research organization, is seeking an experienced HR & People Operations Manager in Columbus, Ohio. This part-time role (25–30 hours/wk) is in-person and focused on building scalable HR processes while hands-on recruiting and HR administration are core responsibilities.

The successful candidate will lead recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits coordination, performance management, payroll liaison, and HR systems across our site network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience.
• Strong recruiting and talent acquisition experience.
• Experience personally managing recruitment from posting to offer.
• Experience with onboarding and employee records.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Experience handling employee relations and performance documentation.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Discretion when handling confidential information.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong MS Office skills, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruiting from job posting through accepted offer and coordination of interviews.
• Coordinate onboarding from offer through orientation and documentation.
• Maintain HR policies, compliance, and employee records.
• Support employee relations, performance management, and coaching.
• Assist with benefits and payroll coordination with accounting.
• Help implement HRIS, ATS, and onboarding systems.
• Develop standardized HR workflows and reporting.
