Job summary

White Lodging is seeking a part-time General Maintenance Technician at Hyatt Place Austin Downtown to support the hotel’s engineering team in maintaining property appearance, functionality and safety. You will perform carpentry, plumbing, and painting; operate hand and power tools; lift up to 25 lbs; and collaborate with the Chief Engineer to uphold standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
• Working knowledge of general maintenance practices.
• Willingness to continue developing in maintenance trades (electrical, carpentry).
• Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hotel maintenance and upkeep meets standards.
• Assist Chief Engineer in supervising Engineering function.
• Clean engineering areas and maintain operations.
• Perform work safely and communicate needs to supervisors.
• Check fixtures, lighting and signs for proper operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
