Job summary

White Lodging seeks a General Maintenance Technician in Austin, TX to support the hotel’s engineering team in maintaining property appearance, functionality, and safety to meet White Lodging standards.

Responsibilities include assisting the Chief Engineer, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with brand and guest expectations. A background in carpentry, plumbing, and painting is preferred, with a willingness to grow in related trades.

Qualifications

• At least one year of maintenance experience required.
• Basic working knowledge of general maintenance with a desire to continue developing in a trade area (e.g., electrical, carpentry).
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 10 lbs regularly and 25 lbs occasionally, and stand/move for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the hotel’s maintenance and upkeep standards meet WL, Brand, and Guest standards.
• Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing and supervising all aspects of the Engineering function of the hotel.
• Clean all engineering areas as directed, working in a neat and efficient manner to help maintain effective operations.
• Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner while maintaining communication with supervisors regarding tools, supplies, and materials.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation and maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
