Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Grayslake is seeking a part-time Security Officer I to protect patients, staff and visitors at the Grayslake Outpatient Center and Freestanding ER. This role enforces policies, conducts patrols, and responds to emergencies under the direction of Security Leadership.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, IAHSS Basic certification within 90 days, BLS within 9 months, and complete Northwestern Medicine Defensive Tactics in Healthcare

• Physical ability and knowledge to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and quell hospital incidents and disturbances to maintain safety.
• Completes descriptive reports for supervisory personnel.
• Notifies city officials and prepares reports as needed.
• Performs perimeter and internal patrols to protect patients and property.
• Monitors access control, alarms, and video systems.
