Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• IAHSS Basic exam within 90 days of hire.
• Maintain IAHSS Basic certification.
• Current Basic Life Support certification within 9 months of hire.
• Defensive Tactics in Healthcare within 6 months of hire.
• Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact with diverse individuals.
• Writing skills to complete reports meeting departmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Investigates/quells hospital incidents to maintain security.
• Notifies city officials and prepares descriptive reports.
• Performs perimeter and internal patrols of buildings and grounds.
• Conducts investigations into hazardous conditions and security issues.
• Monitors access control, alarms, and video systems.
• Controls traffic to ensure emergency access and patient safety.
