Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years professional experience as a volunteer in healthcare or human services.
• 2+ years in a healthcare setting, hospice preferred.
• Ability to coordinate, supervise and evaluate volunteer services.
• Ability to educate and develop volunteer hospice personnel for patient and organizational needs.
• Experience in hospice volunteering, bedside roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all volunteer records, including lists, availability, assignments, time and personnel records.
• Participate in volunteer recruitment and conduct screening interviews.
• Develop and coordinate volunteer training classes and ongoing education with the DPE.
• Coordinate activities of volunteers not involved in direct patient care.
• Assist the DPE to develop and implement the volunteer program using community, regional, and national resources.
• Coordinate Volunteer Recognition activities.
