Job summary

Amedisys Home Health is seeking a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to join our home health team serving the Whitmire, SC area with initial training in Newberry, SC. The role provides PT services under a supervising PT, with emphasis on patient wellness and home-based care.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate from CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• One year of related PTA experience in home health, or mentor-supported entry.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services and interventions under the supervising PT and approved plan of care.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment to PT, physician and clinical staff.
• Promotes wellness and prevention and documents supervisory activities in the chart.
• Monitors patient response to PT intervention and updates care plans as needed.
• Participates in patient care conferences, in-services, chart audits and quality activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and coordinates follow-up with involved agencies.
