Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking an Athletic Coach at Mesa High School to lead, train and mentor student-athletes in a specific sport. You'll design practices, develop game plans, and foster teamwork, discipline and academic balance while ensuring health and safety compliance with school policies.

The role requires completing the online application with a valid IVP fingerprint clearance card, Coach Referral Form and NFHS coaching certificates; prior coaching or playing experience is preferred and

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or GED. IVP fingerprint clearance is required.
NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certificate and NFHS Concussion in Sports Certificate required.
Background as a player at HS or college is preferred; prior coaching experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and lead practices to improve individual and team performance and develop game plans.
Foster values of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and balancing academics with athletics.
Promote a positive, inclusive team culture and address conflicts among team members and parents.
Maintain and coordinate practice, game, and transportation schedules, scores and records.
Enforce eligibility, safety protocols and rules; ensure conduct aligns with school policies.
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, booster clubs and community members.
Assist with other duties as appropriate to Mesa Public Schools.
