Job summary

The City of Sarasota, through the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, is seeking an Assistant to Head Usher for part-time, temporary work. The role supports guest services, ticket checks, crowd control, and safety procedures during performances.

Responsibilities include assisting with arrivals, guiding guests to entrances, resolving issues with Head Usher oversight, and providing courteous information about facilities and schedules.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, or equivalent; or sufficient experience and training to provide necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Training and experience may be used in lieu of educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in event arrival and departure procedures.
• Direct audience flow and check ticket validity.
• Resolve conflicts or refer to Head Usher for resolution.
• Assist guests with admission procedures or seating and answer facility inquiries.
• Maintain friendly, helpful customer service and professional appearance; adhere to dress code.
