Job summary

YMCA of Metro Atlanta seeks a part-time Group Exercise Instructor to lead classes on land and in water under the Wellness Director. You will promote safe, engaging sessions, manage music selection, and ensure class setup and takedown while upholding YMCA policies.

Requires 18+, high school diploma or GED, and appropriate certifications (Group Exercise Instructor & water fitness). Background checks and CPR/AED required. Join us to empower local communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Land instructors must obtain YMCA/ACE Group Exercise Instructor Certification within 60 days.
• Water instructors must obtain YMCA/AEA certification within 60 days.
• Maintain CPR/AED certifications and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise group exercise classes on land and water.
• Select appropriate music and manage class setup and takedown.
• Ensure safety and follow YMCA risk guidelines.
• Log attendance and check updates via GroupEx PRO.
• Coordinate substitute instructors when needed.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain certifications and renewals as required.
• Support wellness initiatives and community engagement.
