Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Level I Group Exercise Instructor to lead land and water classes, select appropriate music, set up and break down sessions, and educate participants on health and wellness concepts in a family-friendly environment.

With required certifications and ongoing education, you will support Youth and Community wellness initiatives while upholding YMCA policies and safety guidelines in a dynamic fitness program.

Qualifications

• Must have YMCA/ACE online certification within 60 days of hire date.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Must possess CPR/AED certification and maintain it.
• Must maintain applicable continuing education credits and certifications.
• Must pass a group exercise audition and adhere to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related to the position's scope and responsibilities.
• Promote, monitor, evaluate, and ensure high-quality group exercise classes.
• Log class attendance in GroupEx PRO by the required deadline and check for updates weekly.
• Secure a substitute instructor in a timely manner if unable to teach.
• Follow risk and safety guidelines and align with THE COACH APPROACH®.
