Job summary

YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Level I Group Exercise Instructor to lead land and water fitness classes, educate participants on wellness approaches, and uphold YMCA safety standards. You will manage class setup, prepare music, and guide participants through the Coach Approach and related health topics.

The role requires obtaining and maintaining CPR/AED and other certifications, logging attendance in GroupEx PRO, and meeting continuing education requirements within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High school or GED degree required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 60 days to obtain YMCA/ACE online Group Exercise Instructor Certification or equivalent.
• Water instructors must obtain YMCA/AEA online certs including Y-Metro Atlanta Water Fitness Specialty Course within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related to the position’s scope.
• Promote and supervise group exercise classes with high service quality.
• Maintain CPR/AED and other required certifications.
• Log class attendance in GroupEx PRO by 11:59 p.m. on teaching day.
• Log in to GroupEx PRO at least twice weekly for updates and subs.
