Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Level I Group Exercise Instructor to lead both land and water fitness classes, selecting music and educating members on health and wellness approaches. You will maintain certifications, log attendance in GroupEx PRO, and coordinate substitutes as needed.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of YMCA/ACE certifications within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must obtain YMCA/ACE online Group Exercise Instructor Certification (or equivalency) within 60 days of hire date.
• Water instructors must obtain YMCA/AEA online certification and related courses within 60 days of hire date.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead and set up land and water group exercise classes.
• Select music appropriate for a family setting and ensure class flow.
• Maintain CPR/AED and other required certifications.
• Log class attendance in GroupEx PRO by 11:59 p.m. of the night taught.
• Log in to GroupEx PRO at least twice weekly for updates and sub opportunities.
• Arrange substitutes in a timely manner when unable to teach.
• Adhere to YMCA risk and safety guidelines and COACH APPROACH.
