Job summary

NC State University is seeking a part-time UTS – Temporary Part-time Business Manager at UNC Chapel Hill to support financial and administrative operations for contract/grant programs. The role focuses on grant financial reporting, AP/AR, and budgeting for proposals.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in nonprofit or public sector financial management, familiarity with NC state contract processes, and strong Excel/GAAP knowledge. Work schedule is about 20 hours per week with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management or public-sector budget operations.
• Experience with grant financial reporting, compliance, and budget development.

Responsibilities

• Grant/contract financial reporting and monthly reconciliation of accounts.
• Accounts payable and receivable; process invoices and funder reimbursements.
• Develop budgets for grant/contract proposals and supporting narratives.
• Maintain contract/grant files and assist with audits and compliance.
• Prepare budget-to-actual reports and support year-end close.
