Job summary

Service Corporation International in Los Angeles area is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant. The role involves clerical support, assisting with services, and interacting with client families in a compassionate, professional manner.

You will handle floral setups, documents, remains preparation, transportation, and office tasks as part of a team. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, prior customer service experience preferred, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services by arranging flowers, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes for client families
• Prepare documents related to services and cremations as directed
• Assist with preparation and handling of remains and operation of crematory per regulations
• Perform office duties: answering phones, fax, computer, multi-line phone system, debit card machine, typewriter, postage meter and scale
• Run errands for floral deliveries, supplies, documents, etc.
• Ushers duties and parking as needed; transport families to services using funeral home vehicles
• Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law
• Assist with visitations, chapel setup, dressing and casketing remains, delivery of family items and flowers
• Greet and assist client families entering the office for information or help
• Accommodate family needs during services/visitation
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness as required
