Job summary

Service Corporation International seeks a Funeral Services Assistant to support funeral operations, greet families, assist during services, and handle light office duties. The role includes preparing remains, assisting with visitations and ceremonies, driving licensed funeral home vehicles, and ensuring transport and coordination are carried out with compassion and professionalism.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in customer service, and proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Message should be within 140 chars.
• Experience: Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and databases preferred; willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services including delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes; ensures proper care and storage.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management.
• Assists with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, or operation of crematory as permitted by law and company rules.
• Answers phones and handles office duties using multi-line system, debit card machine, and related equipment.
• Runs errands for floral delivery, supplies and documents.
• Serves as an usher and may park cars or handle transportation needs.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family transport.
• Ensures refreshments are available where permitted; assists with visitations, chapel setup, dressing and casketing remains.
• Greets clients and assists with information needs; supports family needs during services and visitations.
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles and client vehicles as required.
