L. A. Stevens & Associates, Inc., a full-service land surveying firm in the Bay Area since 1991, is seeking a dependable Full-Charge Bookkeeper in Novato, CA. The role manages day-to-day accounting using QuickBooks Desktop, prepares monthly financials, and supports management with accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate works independently, maintains organized records, and thrives in a flexible, part-time schedule (~16 hours/week) with opportunity for ongoing involvement and career growth.

Qualifications

• Full-charge bookkeeping experience is required.
• Strong QuickBooks Desktop knowledge is essential.
• Excel proficiency is required.
• Experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance including journal entries.
• Ability to prepare and understand financial statements.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and time-conscious approach.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
• Discretion when handling confidential financial information.

Responsabilités

• Manage daily bookkeeping activities using QuickBooks Desktop.
• Handle vendor payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, brokerage accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain the general ledger and accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare financial records and reports for the outside CPA.
• Maintain organized records for tax preparation and compliance.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve bookkeeping issues independently.
