Qualifications

• Effective communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for efficient bagging.
• Follow bagging procedures and correct use of bags by type.
• Scan orders and handle the payment transaction per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds, cash handling and overrides.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car or for To-Go services.
• Keep checkout area neat, stocked and paper supplies ready at all lanes.
• Seek ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs and labor.
• Perform the task of cashier as scheduled or during surge plans.
