Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Customer Service Associate for the front end, focused on fast, friendly, and accurate service. You will engage customers, greet by name when possible, and support checkout operations while maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities include bagging, order scanning, payments, and assisting with refunds and overrides. You will work with a team to ensure clean, safe, and efficient service at the front end.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smiles and provides prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers.
• Greets each customer and uses their name when possible.
• Unload groceries from cart to belt and group cold items for bagging.
• Check the bottom of carts and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow bagging procedures and ensure correct use of bags by type.
• Scan orders and handle payments per standard practice.
• Maintain professional conduct with customers and staff at all times.
• Follow procedures for refunds, typical overrides and cash handling.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car.
• Ensure front end area and MVP savings center are clean and well-stocked.
