Job summary

SpartanNash is hiring a part-time cashier at our Mishawaka, IN location. You will operate the cash register and scanner, process payments, and assist in bagging purchases while delivering courteous customer service.

This role includes front-end duties, safety guidelines, and familiarity with store programs and coupons. We value strong communication, reliability and basic math skills, with prior retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; polite and effective with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize and total customer purchases.
• Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, EBT, loyalty cards, etc., accurately.
• Weigh and bag customer purchases.
• Maintain front-end duties and merchandising at the check-stand.
• Explain store programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers; model high customer-service standards.
