Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Front Desk Security Officer in New York, NY to welcome visitors, verify IDs, and manage access at a premier commercial real estate site.

Responsibilities include monitoring entry, operating front-desk systems, responding to incidents, and keeping accurate visitor records; prior security and customer service experience preferred. This role offers flexible shifts via the Claim a Shift platform and requires a background check.

Qualifications

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or vendors at a commercial real estate front desk by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Monitor access to the property by greeting visitors, verifying identification and/or appointments, and directing guests in accordance with established visitor-management procedures.
• Operate front-desk systems, including visitor logs, access-control tools, cameras, telephones, and/or communication equipment as assigned.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of visitor activity, deliveries, incidents, and other security-related events, and promptly report concerns to appropriate personnel.
