Job Description and Position Requirements

Penn State Mont Alto is searching for an adjunct faculty instructor for the Forest Surveying (FORT 140) course in Spring 2025. Students will learn and practice surveying measurements in the field, including distance, directions, slopes, and traverses. The instructor should be proficient with analysis, calculations using calculators, basic software, and GIS. Students will likely become foresters who use surveying in their work. The course consists of about half indoor time (lecture, analysis practice, and field work analysis) and half field labs.

Requirements and Qualifications

• It is preferred that the candidate has a Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline. A candidate with a Bachelor’s degree and professional surveying field‑work experience will also be considered.
• May require the ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
