The Forest Dynamics Lab in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management is looking for a part‑time summer undergraduate research assistant to help with projects in forest ecology and management. Most work will be at local research sites and include forest measurements, tree‑ring sampling, and research site maintenance, with occasional data entry and lab work. We are looking for someone interested in fieldwork, forests, and research; and who can enthusiastically work outside under a range of conditions, including rain and heat, and tolerate exposure to insects and briars. Additionally, we are looking for someone who is dependable and interested in working in a group. Priority will be given to students with tree identification and measurement skills.
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
