Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part-Time Foot Patrol in Norfolk, Virginia. The role involves protecting government facilities through visible patrols, access control, and incident response while prioritizing customer service and safety. The schedule is part-time with specified afternoon and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by laws.
• Criminal histories considered per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by security procedures and emergency response at a government location.
• Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of facilities, docks, parking areas, and perimeter points.
• Control access at gates and checkpoints by verifying IDs and directing traffic.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with site personnel and responders as needed.
• Complete detailed security reports and logs, and communicate updates to supervision.
