Job summary

The Fleet Intern position with the City of Gainesville provides hands-on experience in automotive repair and fleet operations. You will assist with service and repair of vehicles ranging from riding mowers to heavy trucks, while learning internal operations and department processes.

Applicants should be students enrolled in higher education, with a GPA of at least 2.0, and able to work 15–20 hours per week.

• Graduation from high school or equivalent diploma; must be enrolled in a higher education program
• Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA; able to work 15–20 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Shadow and train with experienced professionals in assigned area.
• Assist in day-to-day operations and tasks.
• Prepare information and research materials; create PowerPoint presentations and Excel sheets.
• Write reports, conduct research, and make recommendations to improve effectiveness.
• Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, including the Mayor and City officials.
