Job summary

The Southwest Florida Water Management District in Tampa is offering a Fleet Services Student Intern position, providing hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, parts ordering, and shop operations at our Tampa office.

The role is not remote, up to 25 hours/week, requires high school diploma and enrollment, valid driver's license, and offers on-site trainings, EAP, and wellness program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or other recognized educational or vocational program.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduates or 3.0 for graduates.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly workspace within the Tampa Fleet shop.
• Clean District pool vehicles, including interior and exterior upkeep.
• Support repairs and basic maintenance on District vehicles and equipment.
• Order parts and supplies needed for various Fleet projects.
• Track parts/supply usage to support accurate recordkeeping.
• Complete required paperwork associated with repairs and maintenance activities.
• Maintain tracking/documentation of completed repairs.
