Job summary

The City of Gainesville is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to maintain and repair a wide range of city vehicles and equipment. You will perform complex preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and keep accurate records in the Fleet Management System.

Requirements include a high school diploma with automotive courses and 5 years of related experience, plus Florida CDL licensing timelines as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with automotive tech/diesel courses.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience repairing motor vehicles/equipment.
• Desire experience with municipal fleet vehicles and public safety assets.

Responsibilities

• Maintains gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, A/C, electrical and other systems.
• Provides roadside assistance and emergency repairs outside garage.
• Performs preventive maintenance and fueling services in the field.
• Enters maintenance data and creates work orders in the fleet system.
