Job summary

RTI International seeks part-time Field Interviewers to support the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). You will contact households, conduct interviews, and convey the study's importance to participants.

The role requires self-motivation, strong communication, and flexibility for evenings and weekends in a field setting. Paid at $20 per hour with an additional Health and Welfare stipend of $4.98 per hour up to 40 hours per week, plus eligibility for holiday and vacation payouts.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED
• Effective communication skills through speech and listening
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking
• Available for entire training and data collection period
• Able to successfully complete training
• Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal automobile for business use
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other associated equipment
• Access to password-protected Wi-Fi for data transmissions and administrative responsibilities
• Able to keep project information confidential
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and after dark
• Regular access to a computer with webcam or internet-enabled device for training and meetings
• Position involves physical demands (carrying, lifting up to 13 pounds)
• Available for a variable work schedule as dictated by the quarterly schedule

Responsibilities

• Contact selected households and conduct interviews for the NSDUH study
• Communicate the importance of participation and obtain informed consent
• Adhere to field supervisor schedules and completed required trainings
• Administer computer-assisted interviews and collect confidential information
• Manage equipment and project materials securely
• Submit timely Time & Expense reports
• Attend virtual team and field supervisor meetings
• Travel to field locations and work after dark as needed
• Maintain field equipment and update systems as required
• Perform administrative duties and participate in trainings
