Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time Field Interviewers to work on the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), a long-running government-sponsored study. You will contact households, conduct interviews, and encourage participation while maintaining a flexible schedule across the Phoenix area.

The pay includes $21 per hour with an additional Health and Welfare stipend of $4.98 per hour for up to 40 hours per week, plus holiday and vacation payout and travel reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• Effective communication skills through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Able to successfully complete training.
• Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal automobile available for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other associated equipment.
• Access to password-protected Wi-Fi connection for data transmissions and administrative responsibilities.
• Able to keep project information confidential.
• Willingness to work in various types of weather conditions and after dark.
• Maintain regular access to a computer with a webcam or an internet enabled device and reliable internet connection for training and meetings.
• Position involves physical demands of carrying, lifting, standing, bending, etc.
• Available for a variable work schedule as dictated by the schedule and assignments.

Responsibilities

• Travel frequently to locations to recruit participants.
• Make in-person contact with respondents to discuss the study and obtain participation.
• Approach households without a prior appointment.
• Adhere to a schedule set by the Field Supervisor for contact times.
• Administer a computer-assisted interview and collect confidential information.
• Complete online trainings and attend required meetings.
• Manage project equipment and safeguard incentives and materials.
• Submit Time & Expense reports on time.
• Attend virtual meetings with project team and field supervisor.
• Participate in field observations by client or RTI staff.
• Maintain system updates to equipment and complete administrative tasks.
• Work and drive after dark.
