Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time Field Interviewers to support the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). You will contact households, conduct interviews, and convey the importance of participation. You should be self-motivated, outgoing, and able to work a variable schedule in the evenings and weekends.

The role involves fieldwork across locations, strict data handling, and travel with project-issued equipment. A long-term commitment to health research is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• Effective communication skills through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Able to successfully complete training.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable personal automobile for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other equipment.
• Access to password-protected Wi‑Fi connection for data transmissions.
• Able to keep project information confidential.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and after dark.
• Regular access to a computer with webcam or internet-enabled device for training and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Travel frequently to selected locations to recruit study participants.
• Make in-person contact with respondents to discuss the study and obtain participation.
• Administer computer-assisted interviews and collect confidential information.
• Transmit data as scheduled and complete Time & Expense reports.
• Attend scheduled virtual meetings with the project team and field supervisor.
• Safeguard project materials and incentives; manage equipment responsibly.
• Work evenings and weekends as required by field schedules.
• Communicate and coordinate with field supervisor and on-site staff.
