Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time Field Interviewers to work on the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), a government-sponsored study addressing health-related behaviors in the United States.

As a field interviewer, you will contact households, conduct interviews, and communicate the importance of participating in the NSDUH study. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, outgoing, and able to work a variable schedule in a non-office setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have effective communication through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Able to successfully complete training.
• Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal automobile for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other equipment.
• Access to password-protected Wi-Fi for data transmissions and admin responsibilities.
• Able to keep project information confidential.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and after dark.
• Regular access to a computer with webcam or internet-enabled device for training and meetings.
• Physical demands including lifting up to 13 pounds and climbing stairs.
• Variable work schedule as dictated by quarterly schedule.

Responsibilities

• Contact households and conduct interviews with selected respondents.
• Explain the importance of participating in NSDUH study.
• Travel to locations to recruit study participants.
• Make in-person contact with respondents to discuss the study and obtain participation.
• Adhere to a schedule set by Field Supervisor for contact times.
• Administer computer-assisted interviews and collect confidential information.
• Manage administrative duties and complete online trainings.
• Safeguard participant incentives and project materials.
• Submit timely Time & Expense reports.
• Attend scheduled virtual meetings with project team and field supervisor.
• Participate in field observations and maintain equipment updates.
• Work and drive after dark.
