Job summary

4Leaf, Inc. is seeking qualified Part-Time Building Inspectors to perform technical inspections in Santa Barbara County, CA. The role requires ICC, IAPMO certifications and preferred NFPA credentials; inspectors will enforce building codes and communicate findings to contractors and the public.

Field work involves on-the-road inspections with a valid CA driver’s license and the ability to pass background checks. Compensation ranges from $35 to $42.79 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• ICC Certification(s) demonstrating knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect new buildings and alterations for code compliance.
• Explain complex building issues to stakeholders (public, contractors, designers, owners).
• Produce clear correction notices and inspection reports.
• Review building plans and specifications for code compliance.
• Apply technical knowledge of building trades and read various codes.
