Job summary

A construction oversight firm in Santa Rosa is seeking a knowledgeable Building Inspector. Qualifications

• 3+ years of building inspection or construction experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections across structural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with state and municipal building codes and regulations.
• Interpret construction plans, specifications, and related documents.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.

Skills

Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications

Strong understanding of building systems (structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical)

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to identify defects and ensure code compliance

Comfortable using computers and inspection/reporting systems

Education

Associate’s degree in construction management, building sciences, or related field

Tools

ICC Building Inspector certification

CASp certification

LEED certification

Build It Green certification
