Job summary

Heart of the Valley YMCA in Madison, AL is seeking a part-time Family Engagement & Events Associate to support birthday parties, family activities, and community events.

You will work with the Executive Director of Family Engagement & Events, coordinate logistics, manage registrations, and help families connect with YMCA programs. The role emphasizes hospitality, organization, and a community-minded approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in customer service, membership services, event planning or administrative support is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, set up, execute, and break down YMCA events and parties as assigned.
• Serve as on-site YMCA representative to ensure a welcoming, family-centered experience.
• Coordinate event supplies, space, signage, materials, and logistics.
• Assist with event communications, registrations, attendance tracking, and follow-up.
• Collaborate with departments to coordinate shared spaces and staffing needs.
• Follow safety policies to ensure a safe environment.
• Ensure all paperwork and waivers are completed prior to facility access.
• Build relationships with members and help families engage with the YMCA.
• Identify opportunities to increase participation and retention through family experiences.
• Represent the YMCA at community events and outreach opportunities.
• Support large-scale initiatives like Healthy Kids Day and open houses.
