Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines and expectations
  • Inform students about course requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance policy
  • Maintain required student attendance and scholastic records
  • Prepare and grade class assignments and examinations
  • Post and maintain regular office hours in accordance with prevailing policy
  • Participate in the development and review of curriculum
  • Participate in the development of teaching-learning methods and materials
  • Participate in departmental, area and campus professional activities/committees
  • Participate in the college\'s learning outcomes assessment program, including course, program, and institutional assessments
  • Perform tasks needed for student records, e.g., submit grades on time to admissions and records
Typical Qualifications
  • Required:
  • Master\'s degree in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education OR
  • Bachelor\'s degree in any of the above AND Master\'s degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy OR
  • The equivalent
  • Promote and incorporate culturally affirming DEIA and anti-racist principles to nurture and create a respectful, inclusive, and equitable learning and work environment. In conducting duties, staff shall respect and acknowledge the diversity of students and colleagues.
  • Preferred: National Athletic Trainers Association certificate
  • Current technology skills related to teaching in the discipline and a willingness to pursue future technological developments

Employee Benefits

Sick leave accrues for part-time faculty on a per-hour basis; sick leave credit is earned at the rate of one hour for every 20 hours of paid service.
