Part‑Time Faculty – Aviation Maintenance Technology (Rock Creek Campus)

Portland Community College (PCC) is seeking qualified individuals for part‑time faculty assignments in Aviation Maintenance Technology at the Rock Creek Campus. This is an interest pool; the department will identify applicants as course needs arise in the academic year. Positions may be for substitute or full‑term class assignments.

Eligibility

PCC limits employment to individuals residing in Oregon or Washington. Employment offers are contingent upon the ability to establish residence in either state. Reasonable accommodations for the hiring process are provided; please contact [e-mail] if accommodation is needed.

Responsibilities

Teach AMT courses at the college level, including lecture, lab, or lecture/lab formats. Candidates may need to list current PCC courses they are able to teach.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology or another vehicle service field.
• Valid FAA mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience exercising the privileges of both Airframe and Powerplant ratings. Five years of teaching experience at the college level or in an aviation maintenance training department may be used interchangeably on a year‑for‑year basis.
• For part‑time instructors presenting a single rating, instruction may be limited to the subject material related to that rating.
• Official transcripts must be submitted within two weeks of offer for all required credentials.
• Academic credentials earned at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent foreign institution. Transcripts from foreign institutions will be evaluated by an agency with good standing in the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
