Join our Team at Portland Community College

Portland Community College is accepting applications for Part‑Time Faculty assignments in the Aviation Science Department at the Rock Creek Campus. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part‑time faculty. This is an interest pool; applications may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full‑term class assignments.

Eligibility

Employment offers are contingent upon the ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington.

Instructor Qualifications

Instructor Minimum Qualifications (by Course Offering) are:

• Willing to commit to full term
• Fewer years of experience may be considered for part‑time instructors if their experience coordinates with the subjects to be taught

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to the minimum requirements):

• FAA IA Certificate
• Flight Instructor Certificate

Academic Credentials

• Official transcripts required within 2 weeks of offer date for required degrees.
• Instructors must have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a foreign institution equivalent to regional accreditation. Foreign credentials will be evaluated by agencies with good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

Part‑Time Faculty Compensation

Newly hired Part‑Time Faculty will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based on the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
